History
University and Community Action for Racial Equity (UCARE)
UCARE (University and Community Action for Racial Equity) is a group of Community and University members that came together in response to the General Assembly’s statement of regret for slavery, segregation and discrimination. UCARE seeks to connect present day disparities with the legacy of slavery, segregation and discrimination, and the significant role the University played through its institutional support for such practices. UCARE strives to support existing efforts and provide new avenues for meaningful dialogue and action towards racial equity.
